Well a fuck sight easier than trying to bump start it when your battery dies.

Bernieboy was using his kicker here when the electric wouldn't fire it, seems silly having both on the 1VJ & then the new & improved 3AJ doesn't get a kick start? money saving i guess on Yamaha`s part? it is one of the most common mods done on a 3AJ.

Could look into it then, not like I have not got the bits, would a 55w kicker fit or does it have to be a 1vj?

Any Yamaha XT600 single engine family kickstart will fit.

So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!

The back up kick start is very handy particularly for bikes that are not ridden every day> smile:

I took my battery out and loned it to a stranded Harley :flogging: in America and he was astounded the bike would run without a battery :innocent: It has got me out the s**t a few times. Another one was the horn snapped off and blew the fuse [I didn't know that at the time] in the middle of no where but I just kicked it :yess: There is more ect, ect

Mail one of the bigger German or US bike wreckers that picture/diagram & they will make up a whole kit for you. :rtfi:

And don't forget to get them to include the actual kick start lever. slywink:

Its a no brainer then.

You are guaranteed to use it on more than one occasion.
