34L Tacho Cable removal - Any trick?

Hi all, Does anyone know if there is a "trick" to removing a broken Tacho cable from the Drive-side? I don't seem to have the answer and don't want to damage anything unnecessarily.

Description:
On the cable-end itself (drive side), beyond the small grommet that seems to be crimped onto the cable remains the square part of the cable where it is inserted into the drive. Where that square part of the cable enters the "female" recess of the drive, the broken cable seems stuck. I can easily remove the opposite gear in the drive that connects at 90° with the cable-end gear, but the gear into which the cable itself enters seems fixed. (In case I need to remove that gear to remove the cable-end)

The cable is now broken/cut off flush with this “female” recess.

Is there some trick to removing this end of the cable or the gear if necessary? I would have thought one can simply slide the cable out.

If anyone has any advice on this, I would really like to hear from you. I would like to publish a photo, but must still figure out how.

I had the same problem, gave up and bought a 2nd hand drive of USA ebay for $15

No trick i know of as ive never had the problem, just a matter of fiddling to you fix it, at the worst you will have to buy another secondhand one & they come up regularly.

It can only be a circlip holding the gears inside? just strip it down & don't forget to post some pics.
