Mezo, Jibber, KGB, Steveloomis,
Many thanks for this great insight.
Now I know the options I can decide what to do.
As it's a spare bike and not the one I use for long distances I think I'll let it ride.
Literally!
Thanks for your generosity.
Richard

Gear Shift Spindle
Hi Everyone,
The small splines on my gear shift spindle (the shaft that enters the crankcase) are worn out.
The lever is fine and currently attached with epoxy metal compound which works ok but is not a reliable/permanent fix and requires gentle footwork.
I have a replacement spindle.
Can anyone ...

Re: Blowing in the Wind
Jibber,
The header pipe fitted just fine.
So I am definitely in you debt.
But............
Oonly until I drop something round your place.................!
Thanks again.
If you hear about a local screening of this film: http://whyweride.com/ perhaps you'd let me know?

Re: What the hell have I bought now
Interesting.
I have just brought one over from Le Mans, France and rode it back without knowing that it's illegal for a British national to use a foreign registered machine on the UK roads.
Anyway, registering in the UK is straightforward once it has an MOT and you can find someone to insure on the ...

Re: Blowing in the Wind
Thanks, Jibber,
I reckon that if I can get a secondhand one I would weld a reinforcing plate at the spot where they always go: on the tight bend that bears the brunt of the hot gases.
Please tell me how much you would like for it.
Thanks.

Blowing in the Wind
Hi All,
My 3aj exhaust header pipe has blown.
Even a temp repair won't hold the heat and pressure.
Does anyone have experience of a mend?
Does anyone know where I can source a replacement?
None on EBay.
:(
Thanks.

Iridium or not?
I have one of these new type of plugs and wonder how it will perform in/suit my 1990 3aj.
It is similar in appearance except for the fact that the central electrode is very thin.
Tiny, in fact.
More of a needle than a post.
Has any member experience of these plugs?
Should I stick to the usual ...
