Re: Engine knock...
I remember several years back coming up behind a truck on my 900SS and getting ready to overtake. Over the wind and the sound of the Termignonis I suddenly noticed this horrendous clattering noise. I decided I'd get past the truck then pull over and see where it was coming from. As I overtook the ...

Re: New xt
You can't break an XT by dropping it like that Mike - your Missus needs to try harder if she wants a new bike... I came off my new XTE in '95 on diesel on a roundabout - about an hour after collecting it from the dealer. Just had to bend a couple of things back into shape. Which is more than I can ...

Re: New xt
Bloody hell!!! :bigeek: What a fantastic find - I keep hoping I'll see something like this up for sale. I see a few 43Fs around but they're often in crappy condition. Well done for grabbing it.
Are you planning to get it dirty...? Be a shame not to, though I'd get a few studio shots done by a pro ...

Re: 1996 TDM850
I paid 2000 Euros. Dealer wanted more but as I said the tyres, chain and sprockets need doing and his ad foolishly said that nothing needed replacing. But he was good to deal with so no worries. Haven't had the chance to ride much yet (currently away working) but will rectify that at some point. To ...

1996 TDM850
Alright so it's not actually a Super Ténéré but the engine is the same so I thought I'd put it up here for anyone who's interested. Just bought this from my local KTM dealer - 41,000km, Marving pipes, recut seat, great condition. Original indicators, bottle-green paint scheme and plate reflector ...

Re: My Xt600e 2003 ongoing build...
Love the ongoing mods - still have a soft spot for my old 600e. The Acerbis tank and 17" wheels make quite a smart combination there.

Re: The new old bike
I'm not sure why the 2KF is quicker but weight has to have something to do with it I suppose. I haven't looked at the specs but it just feels a lot gutsier than my old 600e. I was dreading the motorway trip home when I went to buy it, but it held a steady 140kmh no problem. I remember my 600e being ...

Re: The new old bike
Only just run in then!
I have fond memories of my 600e and wouldn't mind another one. If you get a hankering for something a bit more old-school and a bit more capable though, I recommend the 2KF. Noticeably lighter and quicker. In the meantime, an Acerbis tank on yours and a few mods and you'll ...
