Thanks for that Geoff!
I'm still not convinced that a tin tank is the way to go, given their want to rust, especially after so many years of sitting there doing nothing.
And yes, your absolutely correct in saying that the "parts ALWAYS turn up eventually".
I'm off to the ActionMans place this Friday ...

Re: Now I'm legitimately here!
Don't forget, Geoff is very careful with his money. His maximum may not win the tank and you both miss out.
That's handy to know.
:thanks: GeographyMan slywink:
I guess I'll just :foot_tap: for Geoff to respond to my PM.
BUT, in the meantime, can't anyone answer if there is an alternative?

Re: Now I'm legitimately here!
You're right Mezo. I too would prefer a stock tin tank but I'm not going to shaft another forum member to do it and, as I've already said, I'm not that fussed if I end up with an aftermarket one for a while.
I'd like to get the thing back on the road but not at some ridiculous cost, e.g. the $1200 ...

Re: Now I'm legitimately here!
I'd be happy to back off to make sure that neither of us ends up bidding against each other and end paying more than either of us need.
I'd also be happy, even happier, if someone chimed in with some info on an alternative ... maybe like that Clarke one I posted a link to.
It will all pan out in ...

Re: Now I'm legitimately here!
So, what we have here is a "redheaded, bastard, asthmatic, stepchild" which we nonetheless love and will groom into a fine example.
I started to hunt around seriously for tanks today, and even given my almost total lack of knowledge, I'm came out pretty sure that there are cheaper (better?) options ...

Muffler flanges
I'm not entirely sure what the Tenere folk prefer to do when the muffler "goes north" but I do know that the Suzuki guys have a few good options.

Re: Now I'm legitimately here!
Hello Dashingly Handsome Administrator!
I did see that tank in another thread .... I can't remember which one 'cos I've been trawling through almost everything I can lay my eyes on on this site!!!
And, like the other UK member stated, both he and I only paid a few shekels for our bike and it hurts ...

A new screen by macdesign
Hi there folks.
I'd been thinking of making up a new screen for quite a while as everything I came across didn't quite fit my needs.
So, after a lot of pissing around I finally came up with this.
It's obviously an amalgam of an existing screen and dimension and shape that suit my purposes (I've ...
