Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

Right gents, loads of points to consider there, thank you.
Although the thermostat was functioning correctly before I started monkeying around I'll go with the general consensus and pop out the thermostat anyway, for the sake of isolation of a problem as much as anything else. I'll also have a ...

Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

Thank you, as you said Action man  (that's you at CERN :blum: ), it appears there are a number that will fit so I should be able to get a cheap one on order today.

The pump certainly looks nothing like Doghouses's one (thankfully) I inspected it quite closely when it was out (I'll try and ...

Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

And last LAST LAST thing today, does anyone know if the clutch hub to an '04 TTR 600 will fit? I've found one for 20 quid.

Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

Right so, I've jumped the bike off the car and it seemed to be ticking over nicely. I've checked the oil pressure, which appears good.

MY VHT paint blistered, straight the fuck off so top job there, maybe my old oven didn't get hot enough to cure the paint properly but cosmetics can go on hold for ...

Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

You're right it's not rocket science, it's Aerospace Engineering, however I'm a mere Electronic and Electrical Engineering student so what do I know. This is my first attempt at working on my first bike, and if you'd care to read my penultimate post fully, you'd see that I made a mistake after ...

Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

Hmm I see. I'm starting to loose faith in my local bike shop. I went in to buy a new Phillips headed bolt and they said that they all need to be changed together and sold me 5 hex nuts that I used the wrench with. I also mentioned that pretty much my soul source of advice was here and intuition and ...

Re: 3YF-'91 General Overhaul

Thanks for the help re. the ring order guys. Working entirely from a poorly printed service manual is a pain. I wish they dis a Haynes for the Ten.

Anyway, I haven't been on for a while as things have become disastrous to the point of farce. Someone tried to knick the bike attacking the start ...
