Can someone confirm what stock gearing is for sprockets? Is it 16 46?

I'm planning a big tour which will be 99% road and thinking of changing the gearing ....maybe to a 17 front to drop revs on motorway.

Anyone tried differing gearing?

Assuming issue not with carbs, check the following

Air filter not blocked
All rubber hoses(especially carb to engine) ...looking for leaks
Throttle or choke cable sticking

I've used central wheels before to build SM rims but for the Suoer 10 they are prohibitively expensive ....approaching 500 pounds to lace Excel rim and spokes to my hub.

I have a front rim that is out of true and no amount of spoke tensioning and wheel balancing is going to sort it.

Anyone got a (true) front rim or wheel they are willing to part with in exchange for beer tokens?

Are black plugs dry or wet?

Assuming dry and sooty it may indicate running rich. Did you check the jets when you looked ar carbs?

Also try running up without air filter and see if that makes a difference.

And lastly check choke is not stuck open.

I am rebuilding a set of wheels ane want to buy some road focused tyres for touring when i will not be offroading.

The very offroad focused knobblies i have are frankly terrifying in the wet and not suited to lomg distance road work.
