Re: 3AJ splitting case/flywheel removal.
Cases are now split with flywheel still attached to crank. No problems.
Gear cogs looked very good for 56000kms and I'll only replace a couple for peace of mind and hoping they'll maybe last another 50000kms!
No other issues found and bore will most likely get away with a hone and I'll ...

3AJ splitting case/flywheel removal.
Gentlemen, I need some advice.
I have a 3AJ engine with 56000kms on it so I'm taking it apart to check and replace worn gears.
Had a peak down the engine and it looks like the 5th gear has started to wear through the hard face.
So the plan is to split the cases and change those cogs. And, as usual ...

Re: 3AJ twin carbs
We've got the fiche on this site?
Mezo.
You mean the Service Manual for XT600Z(U) '88 in the section: Manuals, part numbers, diagrams?
I didn't find it in those micro fiche. Maybe the altitude compensator wasn't on all 3AJ model years!?
Also on that russian site the part isn't shown on the carb ...

Re: 3AJ twin carbs
Hiya Mats,
didn't know what it did until yesterday when I decided to google it.
Just out of interest, how exactly do you google an unknown part on your bike? I've tried typing "thingumy" and "whatchumacallit" and haven't got anywhere. Do you put in the part number or something?
