Handlebar mounts
So although it will never win anything in a beauty contest, my 3yf is going well and I’m really enjoying it as my daily ride. If it were a couple of inches shorter I would be ecstatic...I will look at options here... but this post is to ask where people get the ‘metalastic’ type rubber mounted ...

Re: So, my xtz burned 3 litres of oil over the summer...
Just before you strip it down... how are you testing the cylinder pressure? Surely at pre- starting rotational speeds the auto exhaust lifter/ decompressor is operating?
Given that it’s starting well and that the only problem is an unexplained oil loss, You could run it until you felt more sure ...

Re: Screens
Hi Rich
I use the MPS website (www.motorcyclespareparts.eu) to check for parts crossover compatability.
According to site they are both part number 3yf283810000.

Re: Screens
I’m a bit unclear about whether the Slipscreen touring screen listed will fit my 3yf. I called the guy to talk to him and he asked me to send a picture of mine, which I did. I’m waiting to hear back but I just thought I would ask you guys the question...

Screens
I’ll be using the bike for some long-ish rides (200 miles) and am considering a screen to reduce buffeting at higher speeds on motorways etc. Firstly, does anyone have any feedback on currently available screens for the 3yf... and also, is there compatibility with the twin headlight models?

Re: Gearbox problem
So this week, almost a year since I found that the ‘project’ XTZ that I bought needed a new gearbox, I finally got around to fitting the rebuilt engine. Today was to be the post-rebuild, maiden (hopefully 5 geared) voyage.

Re: model/year ID
Gaskets sets should fit all years with the 5 valve head, the only differences in the engine are a taller 1st gear & a blanking plate on the later 4MY model which has an electronic tacho (blanking plate instead of tacho drive unit).
