Hi all,
Yesterday I had a chance to wisit the old lady in the garage.

It had been standing in the garage for almost a week because it would only do 120 km/hour.

I took of the carburator and gave it yet another cleaning. The diaphram at the coaster enrichter were filled with dirt and the choke pistons were also dirty.
I cleaned all the small holes and jets around the carburators and put the thing back together.

Afterwards I adjusted the float level (I didnt do that the first time).... and then I took the old lady for a trip.

And I am very happy.. My baby is back  and the old engine is pulling away as usual, so now its one step closer to the next adventure

Thanks for the help everybody. My Emu is back on the streets

Regarding the 70 main jet, I have to admit I was wrong... it is a 140 jet (sorry) I was looking at the wrong jet

The next thing is to syncronize the carburators, give the oil gallery bolt a new copper washer (it looks like its leaking oil) and put some miles on the old lady  .

Best regards
Alex

Hi All,
its been quite some time since I have posted anything about my lovely xtz. Things are going great with the bike and I'm nearly done with my improvements.

I have driven 350 km on my bike and the bike is doing very well. The engine is "behaving" like dr. jekyll and mr. hyde, meaning that if I wish to cruise around it does the job, but when I keep the cables open the bike slingshoots away :badger:

Last night I discovered that the poor baby was leaking fuel from the left carburator inlet :nono: The fuel level in the left carburator is to high, but I recon that the inlet rubber must have a crack, because fuel is cooming out between the actual carburator and inlet :censored:

WHat do you guys think??

Before my trip to Morocco I'm missing the following improvements (we are leaving in 4 weeks):
- 2 new gasket between exhaust and headers
- 2 x 12 volts outlets (for my GPS and mobilephone charger)
- Making a bracket for my GPS
- Mount my Scootoiler
- Mount my GIVI rack
- Mount my crahbars
- Mount a new rectifier (my current has NO coolingfins, and I have a spare WITH coolingfins, so why not)

I have planned to paint my bike blue (Sonauto Replica), but there isnt enough hours in one day, so at this momemt I'm still missing to paint the fuel tank, front fender and the small pieces of fairing at the back.. But here is a few pictures:

Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know how our Morocco-trip went.

The adventure ended 2 weeks ago and the everyday work and hassle has started once again, but looking back on our trip I must admit it makes me smile.

This is basicly the route we followed:

1 day: Denmark - Bad grund (Germany)
2 day: Bad grund - Dijon (France)
3 day: Dijon - Barcelona (Spain)
4 day: Sailing from Barcelona to Tanger MED
5 day: Tanger MED - RIF mountains (Chefchauen)
6 day: RIF mountains - Fes
7 day: Fes - Casablanca
8 day: Casablanca - Rabat - Tanger
9 day: Tanger - Almeria (Spain)
10 day: Almeria - Valencia
11 day: Valencia - Zaragoza
12 day: Zaragoza - the pyranees alpes
13 day: alpes - Poiters (France)
14 day: Poiters - Belgium (staying at "baton Rougue")
15 day: Blegium - Denmark

We drove 7600 km over the above route.

we had a flat tire in France (happened on the freeway - but NO drama), my brothers Emu started to use a llittle oil, I droped my bike once (again no drama)... but other than those little hickups the old bikes drove perfect...

Having been home for 14 days have made me think a little over our planning (or lack of planning). We did way to much freeway driving :-( so the next adventure we will strive to do less kilometers pr. day, but if you havent wisited Morocco on motorcyle... you must go, its fantastic :oilleak:

Hi All,
Its been a while since our trip to Marocco, but a few other trips have been conducted since.

The old XTZ750 been a few time i Germany and Norway. The bike has driven 12.000 problemfree km's since Marocco and I'm still loving the bike.

The vinterproject is pretty easy this year and only include a new chainkit change + a new front tyre.. Nothing more than ordinary maintenance when gear gets used and worn down.

Here is a few pictures from my trips in 2015:

A small "bump on the way" fixed by a friendly guy in Norway:

A weekendtrip to Goslar in Germany together with a few friends:

Looking out the window in Denmark I cant wait for the comming trips.
Hopefully next years trip include a wisit to Scotland (tasting whisky) :guinness: + a trip to Norway (again)+ a trip to Goslar (again) :nordie:

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the comment :thanks:
I have to admit that the oil is comming from the bike, however its chainsaw oil and NOT engine oil

My Scottoiler ran out of oil one og the last days on the trip, so I filled my scottoiler with bio degradable chainsaw oil.. The scottoiler however dripped because the change in oil (and perhaps viscosity)..

It looks like a showstopper with all that oil, however the only problem was the broken sidestand

Best regards
Alex

Hi Kevin,
My brother and I are shipping our bikes from Denmark to Scotland in a container, so that we dont have to drive through the canal and minimize the freeway driving.. However we will likelly take you up on your kind offer of a sandwich, local knowledge and a :guinness: It would be much appreciated and fun to see a fellow téné-rist

Best regards
Alex
